Heya cuties! V-day is just around the corner and I wanted to share with you how I am celebrating this oh-so-lovely holiday in honor of Saint Valentine. I’ve got some style inspiration, some good ideas on how to spend the day, and a playlist for all you love birds out there. Take my hand and let’s go for a . . . scroll . . .
Valentine’s Day Style Inspiration
So, maybe it comes from my love of ballet or perhaps I just like to feel like a human cupcake, but I LOVE a tulle skirt. You can peep my newest tulle addition, this Red Glitter Heart Skirt, here!
First, I paired it with a loose cream tank by Calvin Klein . . .
Then, I added my nude, Steve Madden vegan leather lace up flats. . .
By the way, the faux leather jacket in the photo above is by Free People, and I adore it;)
Below we’ve got the whole kit and caboodle!
Before wrappin’ it up, I wanted to show you the skirt and shoes, paired with one of my old vintage tee’s again. Knowing myself, on a day that’s NOT Saint Valentine’s . . . I’m more likely to tuck a t-shirt into this glittery bottom piece.
VOILA! There you have it. My top picks for V-day style and how I’d sport ’em any other day:D
Let’s see what’s next . . .
Valentine’s Day To-Do’s
I decided it would be nice to share a handful of ideas on how to spend your Valentine’s day! I’ve been single many V-days in my time, but I have Always enjoyed it! When I was a little girl, my mom would take me shopping on V-day eve, for a happy pink and red top to wear to school the next day. The morning of, my parents would wake me up with a little present, usually a stuffed animal (many of which I probably still have). They taught me to celebrate LOVE. To this day, I still see it as a day to show your friends and loved ones that you care, more so than a romantic holiday.
With that being said, one of my favorite ways to spend this holiday, is by hand writing valentines and delivering them to door steps and mailboxes. To me, there is nothing like a hand written note or letter to show someone you care.
This year, I managed to find some old, vintage valentines at a retro store that I love. I used those to make personalized notes for friends!
Another way to spend the day or evening is by cooking – with friends, your significant other, or a family member. Taking the time to prepare a fresh, home cooked meal and then sharing it with one another has got to be one of the most intimate things we as humans can do.
Finally, if you are looking for a more typical date night, I’d recommend something out of the norm. Rather than a fancy restaurant, how about a cheap diner and the drive in? Staying in with No Tube…no phones, shows, or movies…maybe draw each other and see what happens? 🙂
Okay, so I promised a playlist for all the love birds out there. . . this one is sure to roc. . . meeeelt . . . your socks off 😉 Turn on this jam, and it won’t be the only thing you turn on 😉 Play these bad boys and get ready to getchya groooove on . . .call your main squeeze and tell ’em to come on ovah! Then just hit Play and lay . . . yeah, my dad’s going to read this so I’ll stop here . . . HI dad! Don’t play this for mom!
Without further ado, here’s your golden ticket to love fest 2017 . . .
