Growing up we hear things like “wakey wakey, eggs and bac-y.” We are taught that bread with sugar (pancakes, waffles, or French toast with syrup) is a decent option to start our day. The truth is, breakfast really IS an important meal. It’s the meal that hopefully fuels our bodies for the day. At first, when you’re trying to eat plant based, breakfast can be the most difficult meal to find alternatives for because there are hardly any plant based options for breakfast at restaurants. When we think of breakfast we literally picture eggs and bacon with a side of french toast. Luckily, in reality, there are PLENTY of delicious, MUCH healthier options; It’s simply a matter of discovery. Here is a recipe for the tastiest, most nutritious breakfast I’ve ever had! I call this one Vegan – GF Breakfast Power Bowl

Paleo, Vegan, and Gluten-Free Quinoa Base

The base of this bowl is Quinoa. If you aren’t aware, Quinoa is a complete protein. This means that it contains all 20 amino acids, including the 10 essential acids our bodies do not produce on their own. For an average-sized adult female, one cup of quinoa is over 17% of what the USDA recommends for daily protein intake. Because it is somewhat dry and perfectly plump, it is an excellent alternative to oatmeal or yogurt for those who are picky about mushy textures. Layered on top of the quinoa is a series of ingredients I make sure to have at all times. These items are easy to shop for in bulk which is generally less expensive. BONUS: when you bring your own bags or glass jars, you’re creating zero waste and shopping sustainably! Your choice of Fruit + Hemp Seeds: Packed with Protein, Iron, and vitamin E. Great for Skin, Heart health, and may reduce symptoms of PMS and Menopause


Flax Seeds or Ground Flax: Heart Health and Antioxidants


Pumpkin Seeds: Heart Liver and Prostate health, Protein, Zinc for Immune System, Anti-inflammatory, Tryptophan for restful Sleep


Cinnamon: Fights Infections and Viruses, Promotes Dental health, Freshens Breath, and Protects Brain Function

  • Quinoa
  • Fruit 
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Ground Flax Seeds
  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Cinnamon
  • Maple Syrup
  • Coconut Shavings 


  • Boil 1 cup of Quinoa, Drain and Scoop into bowl
  • Layer other Ingredients as Desired
