June 7, 2017June 22, 2017Categories Mind2 Comments on ONE YEAR VEGAN AND COUNTING

You guys!!!! Today marks one year VEGAN! I can easily and honestly say that going vegan is the best decision I’ve ever made and that I have never experienced as much peace and joy as I have during my first year living a vegan lifestyle. Now, I want to share with you some of the details of this past year 🙂

  • Pretty much saved by this delightful pickled veggie and hummus sandwich 🥪 from @oscuracafe 👌🏽 I woke up with a tummy ache but after eating this simple, healthy lunch I’m feeling 💯🙌🏽 Bring on the weekend, bb! #localeats #bradentonfl #dtbt #lovethiscitybradenton #pickledveggies 💕
  • Throw back to a very festive V-Day when I had time for things outside of work! Lol❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗❤️ I love you guyyyysss 🥰 If you’re still wondering what to wear or do for v-day, check out the valentines inspired blog post I wrote a couple years back through the link in my bio!
  • Spiralized zucchini pesto and strawberry kale salad make for a super yummy gf and vegan dinnahhh 🥬🍓🌿👌🏽
  • The Blue Marlin on Anna Maria has the best live music 🎶 and some yummy vegan sides! I’d get the veggie platter and a sangria next time 👌🏽🌙🌌🌺🌿 Also, @thebirdtribesrq is the coolest local band!! They have their own groovy renditions of Marley, Santo & Johnny, and Sam Cooke too! Plus, their originals are just as soulful🦋
  • HAPPY SATURDAY 🦋🌙🦄 This weekend my other half is working so I have our new place and all the kitties to myself. This sunny ☀️ weather in Bradenton, FL is giving me all the feels so I’m hoping to make it to the beach later but I’ve got a lot to do first! Wishing you all the happiness this weekend and always! If you’ve got work to do too let’s get that shiz done so we can chillaaaaxxx bb 🌊🌺🌌 📷 by: @lilygracephoto
  • If you haven’t been to the down town Bradenton farmers market yet, be sure to check it out sometime before the season ends! It’s every Saturday morning until 2pm and they’ve got lots of fresh local produce, fresh breads and olive oil, colorful flowers and lots more🤗💕🌿☀️🦋
  • Today’s #plantbased brunch at @birdrocktacoshack was one for the books! 📚 If you’re a local, make sure to make a reservation for March’s Groovy Brunch at Birdrock ft. Tellers’ coffee ✨💕My favorite part about the food at this place is how non traditional it is. Now I never want to NOT have pineapple 🍍 in a burrito 🌯 again! BIRDROCK TACO SHACK, Where things that sound so outside of the box.... become your must haves. 👌🏽
  • For nearly the entire time I’ve been blogging, I’ve been confining myself to the comfort of my room and connecting with people in other places far away that already have thriving vegan, sustainability, and social justice movements (L.A., London, NYC, Montreal, etc.)... and neglected trying to talk to people in my own community about these topics. For so long I felt like no one was interested in these things, where I live. Ever since my friend, Lauri, and I opened an adorable little coffee/vegan grab n’ go window in down town, Bradenton... I have come to realize there are absolutely TONS of people who care deeply about those things. The last 6 months (the amount of time the coffee shop has been open) I have felt perpetually pleasantly surprised by how many people in the community DO care about decreasing our environmental impact and finding ways to pass the mic to those who are not heard. Now, I want to say THANK YOU and show my gratitude for how amazing this place that I call home, truly is. Bradenton is full of charm, beautifully preserved nature, and lots of creatives, who I want to see and hear more from. I can’t wait to see how this city evolves and I feel SO lucky to be apart of its shift. 🌃🙏🏽
